Even during summer, the Yarra Valley boasts a comparatively cooler climate than other areas of Victoria. The highest temperature in January is about 20°C. During the late winter, the city experiences strong cold winds and frost. Rainfall in the Yarra Valley is abundant with about 75cm during September. Summer in the Yarra Valley is pleasant and warm, but there are rarely hot and dry days.
